Aims of the course:
The aim of this one day course is to support your practice with porcelain whilst being sensitive to its needs and quirks as you throw larger, finer bowl shapes.
Starting with posture and body positioning, Jilly will teach you a variety of methods, tips and tricks for throwing bowl shapes, including reducing the amount of clay left at the base of your work. Porcelain can be both a joy and a tricky mistress to work with, requiring both direct and delicate touch. This small group course will allow for plenty of careful tutor observation and support.
N.B. No fired work is included but it may be possible to leave a piece at Vessel Ceramics to be biscuit fired and collected later for an extra charge of 2p per g.
Refreshments are provided. Lunch can be bought locally.
